The use of social Media in Politics including Twitter, Facebook and YouTube has dramatically changed the way campaigns are run and how Nigerians interact with their elected officials. The prevalence of social media in politics has made elected officials and candidates for public office more accountable and accessible to voters. and the ability to publish content and broadcast it to millions of people instantaneously allows campaigns to carefully manage their candidates' images based on rich sets of analytics in real time and at almost no cost.




With the recent bill passed by the senate over hate speeches, many will be withdrawn to comment on issues of the nation.

The Buhari/Osinbajo's government gained more ground through the Social Media. The constant tackle and criticism of the jonathan government enlightened / blinded people on the need for change.

As a democratic nation, it would be catastrophic on the Buhari/Osinbajo's regime to demonstrate this act of limitation or bondage of free expression of interest. Lets call a spade a spade and tackle the immediate menace facing this nation which is (Fulani Herdsmen). Hate speeches that promote violence can be punished but hanging is too extreme. This will only backfire rather than quench the fire in the minds of our youth.

A Survey in 2017 ranked Nigeria as the 8th country with the highest use of internet, a total of 91  million users which comes mainly from mobile phone and desktop.
