Trump said. 'Many companies, I think, are close, such as Johnson & Johnson ' he told the Fox News.

Trump also stated that he didn't really care if another country developed a successful vaccine first.

 'I really just want to get a vaccine that works,'I really don't care. If it's another country, I'll take my hat off to them. We have to come up with a vaccine.'  the president said.

When asked if he was worried about people volunteering for vaccine trials, Trump replied;
'No, because they're volunteers,' Trump said.  'They know what they're getting into,' he added, calling those who sign up 'good people.'

According to Trump the U.S. is working alongside Australia and the United Kingdom to develop a vaccine and said Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who became extremely ill from COVID-19 though he was going to die.
